Fire destroys Tampin Health Clinic pharmacy

SEREMBAN, June 21 (Bernama) ? The Tampin Health Clinic near here will temporarily operate at the Tampin Hospital Specialist Clinic effective today following a fire that destroyed the clinic's pharmacy this morning.



Negeri Sembilan Health director Dr Zainudin Mohd Ali said the fire occurred at about 5 am. No casualties were reported.



"Only the pharmacy unit of the health clinic was damaged. The clinic will be temporarily relocated to the Tampin Hospital Specialist Clinic immediately until repair works are completed," he said in a statement here.



All patients who need outpatient and periodic treatments can seek treatment at the Tampin Hospital effective today until further notification.



"For any enquiries involving patient's treatment please contact the Tampin Health Office at 06-4411643," he said.



Meanwhile, Tampin Fire and Rescue Station senior officer Mohd Hilmi Ayob said the fire affected the Pharmaceutical Division where medicines and files were stored.



"The fire station received a call at 5.36 am and 16 personnel were sent to put out the fire, assisted by firemen from the Rembau Fire Station. The fire was brought under control in 10 minutes and fully extinguished at 7 am," he said when contacted.
