KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 (Bernama) -- 'Valsartan' products which were reportedly withdrawn from the market in the United Kingdom should not be in the Malaysian market.
Health Department director-general-cum-Drug Control Authority (DCA) chairman Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said checks with the registration list of National Pharmacy Regulatory Division (NPRA) found that the products from the product registration holders were not registered with the DCA.
"These products should not be in the market and cannot be used in this country," he said in a statement today.
It was reported that the recall followed an urgent investigation into medicines containing valsartan used to treat high blood pressure and heart conditions.
