Fomema Holds briefings on new medical check-up procedures throughout Peninsula

KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama) -- The Foreign Workers' Medical Examination Monitoring Agency (Fomema) is organising a programme to outline new guidelines on medical examination of foreign workers at six locations throughout the Peninsula.

Its president and chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Hatar Ismail in a statement said that the programme would include comprehensive briefing sessions to explain a new format for the procedure approved by the government effective January this year.

"The programme was held for half a day at the first location, University of Malaya Alumni Centre, in which more than 100 employers from Selangor and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur were present.

"The focus will next be on Melaka, Johor Bharu, Penang and Kuantan until September of this year," he said.

Mohd Hatar said the programme was also aimed at educating employers on the implementation of the Biometric Integration System in Fomema medical examinations beginning this year.

The briefing session also highlighted the importance of using Fomema's online medical check-up registration facility at https://portal.fomema.my/ which was launched in 2016, he added.
