Three students given medical treatment after thermometer shatters in school

SANDAKAN, July 11 (Bernama) -- Three students had to undergo treatment in hospital after a thermometer shattered at a laboratory of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Elopura here today.


The two female students and one male student, all aged 14, were administered first aid at the laboratory before they were sent to the hospital, said a statement issued by the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department.


The Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station rushed six personnel to the school after it was alerted to the accident at about 3 pm, it said.


The personnel cleaned up the mercury fragments, it added.
