BP Healthcare, IJN inks MoU & launch app for patients

KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 (Bernama) -- BP Healthcare and National Heart Institute (IJN) have formed a strategic partnership with the launching of a secure online clinical result system for IJN patients.

Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) inked today, BP Healthcare -  through its free and downloadable mobile application Doctor2U -  will enable IJN patients to track their progress by comparing results from different points in time.

Doctor2U chief executive officer (CEO), Garvy Beh, said the supply of radiology images and lab results through the app will also do away with report collections, making patients' lives much easier.

"No more printing or burning (on CD) of radiology reports and pathology results and no more opportunity for human errors. Instead, we should get people to do what they do best in building relationship and patient trust," he said in his speech at the MoU signing ceremony at IJN, today.

Beh added the app will allow a more efficient and cost effective clinician workflow by channelling repetitive tasks and feedback loops through a computerised system.

Also present was IJN CEO Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Azhari Yakub, who said the institute is moving towards the provision of e-services for its patients in line with its step towards a smart and patient-centric hospital.

"The first phase of this project will be launching on Aug 1 where access for patients to view their radiology results and images will be given," he said.

The second phase  - access to blood test results - will be launched in November.

Patients can access the services of Doctor2U app upon registration at the IJN counter and once the necessary consent have been given.
