KUALA TERENGGANU, July 14 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu government would like to sponsor a prosthetic arm for Nur Zulaikha Khumaira Zulkifli, who lost most of her left arm when her jacket got caught in the wheel of a motorcycle she was riding pillion.
Menteri Besar Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said he would also visit the seven-year-old girl soon.
"Hopefully this little contribution will help Khumaira to continue life as usual," he said in a statement here today.
Meanwhile, Nur Zulaikha Khumaira's father Zulkifli Mohamad, 38, said the decision on whether a prosthetic would be suitable for his daughter would be made after the bandages being removed tomorrow.
He told Bernama when met at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital here that Nur Zulaikha Khumaira was currently in stable condition and began to have a good appetite.
During the 9.30 pm incident on Thursday, Nur Zulaikha Khumaira was riding pillion behind motorcyclist Noor Aina Hananie Razalie, 18, in Kampung Binjai Bongkok near Marang when she suddenly fell off the machine.
Noor Aina Hananie, who is Nur Zulaikha Khumaira's cousin, said she did not realise that the girl had fallen off the motorcycle and that the sleeve of her jacket was being pulled into the rim, tearing her arm off.
