Dr Buds Organics harnesses nature's healing power

PETALING JAYA, July 18 (Bernama) -- Although they promise to fix the problem, skin conditions like acne, eczema, hair loss and dandruff can be aggravated by commercial personal care products. 

This prompted Dr Buds Organics co-founder, Soo Kian Kheng, a chemist by training, to come up with a safe skincare formulation. 

Soo, who is I-Green (M) Sdn Bhd research and development director, said his product range was inspired by his children who suffered from eczema when they were infants and his own experience with adolescent acne. 

"The vicious comments about my skin from my schoolmates caused me to feel depressed. The fatherly, protective instinct within me wants to make sure that if I can do something about this, I must. Dr Buds Organics is my effort towards that," he said at a product launch today. 

Dr Buds Organics products have been certified organic by Ecocert, one of the most stringent and well-respected international organic certification bodies in the world.



The formulation includes ingredients like tea tree oil which has anti-bacterial properties, liquorice extract which is anti-inflammatory, aloe vera and fructan to soothe and hydrate, and prebiotics to promote the growth of good bacteria.

The Dr Buds Organics product range costs between RM49.90 and RM86.90 on its website. From Aug 1, the range will be available at Guardian and Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur. 

The development of Dr Buds Organics was made possible through the support of the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) and the Commercialisation of Research and Development Fund (CRDF).
