Tropicana Medical Centre now named Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara

KUALA LUMPUR, July 20 (Bernama) -- Tropicana Medical Centre is now officially re-branded as Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara (THKD), following its rebranding and pile-capping ceremony Wednesday.

It was officiated by Kota Damansara assemblyman, Shatiri Mansor, who was accompanied by TMC Life Sciences Berhad (TMCLS) chairman, Prof Datuk Dr Khalid Abdul Kadir.

"I have been with Tropicana Medical Centre since its inception in 2008. I grew with the hospital and its heritage will forever be a part of us," Dr Khalid had said in his speech at the event, according to a statement issued to Bernama.

"Today marks a significant step forward in the history of the hospital and TMC Life Sciences. We mark the completion of piling works for the expansion of the hospital. And today, we officially launch our rebranded hospital, now known as Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara."

"This rebranding reflects our becoming a member of one of the largest listed private healthcare groups in Asia – Thomson Medical Group," he added.

THKD is a member of Thomson Medical Group Limited, a larger healthcare platform with counterparts in Singapore and Indonesia.

The membership allows these hospitals to cross-refer patients, and share knowledge and expertise among their doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.

THKD chief executive officer and TMCLS group chief corporate officer, Wan Nadiah Wan Mohammad Yaakob said at the same event, “The re-branding exercise is timely and in sync with our blueprint to expand our foothold both locally and internationally.

"We want to be THE brand that our patients trust and go to when they require medical attention. The Thomson brand shall serve as your one-stop brand for all your healthcare needs from young to old."
