LIAM generates health awareness via Nationwide Campaign

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 (Bernama) -- The ongoing Health Awareness & Nationwide Blood Donation Campaign 2018, organised by the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM), is more than just a place for the public to donate their blood.

Currently taking place at over 30 locations countrywide till Oct 31, the campaign was officially launched at the Medan MARA concourse area, Jalan Raja Laut, here, today.

The launch was made in collaboration with the National Association of Malaysian Life Insurance and Family Takaful Advisors (NAMLIFA) and the National Blood Centre.

LIAM Industry Promotion Committee chairman, Ramzi Toubassy, said the industry took the initiative – via the campaign – to spread awareness on health issues through health screenings and talks conducted by doctors and specialists.

“With one common objective in mind and in the true spirit of caring, sharing and giving, we are working together with our co-partners.

“We hope the public will benefit from this campaign and take this opportunity to do their health screening while donating blood for the needy,” said Toubassy during the launch.

Meanwhile, the campaign at Medan MARA ends on Oct 5, and the partners in the campaign are Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), the National Heart Institute, the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), Asia Assistance Network (M) Sdn Bhd, KPJ Healthcare Bhd, Cancer Research Malaysia, and Peak Fitness Sdn Bhd.
