ISKANDAR PUTERI, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- Menteri Besar Datuk Osman Sapian today launched the i-Psychology system, an online mental health screening tool to be used on civil servants in the state.
He said it was important to assess the mental health of civil servants and the public because psychological stress at the workplace, living conditions and family background could help identify an individual’s strengths and weaknesses.
“In addition, he said it was also important to determine how an individual reacts and adapts to situations.
"This psychological testing, assessment and counselling will be able to evaluate a person’s mental health problems and psychological level on-line, without having to meet a counsellor. The test will also measure emotional states of depression and anxiety," he said when launching the 2018 Johor i-MOVE Seminar at the Educity Sports Complex , here today.
Osman added that counselling clinics and counselling and psychological services should also be promoted as there was an increasing need for these services among civil servants and members of the public.
At the event he congratulated the group of thinkers who had succeeded in realising the Johor government i-Psychology system and winning the Gold Award at the International Seminar on Psychology and Counselling Innovation held in Brunei recently.
Meanwhile, the i-MOVE 4 Seminar is aimed at educating civil servants to better understand the need to take care of their mental health and importance of having high performing and customer-friendly civil servants.
The event also saw state assemblymen taking the corruption-free oath.
