DoctorOnCall, Tune Protect to launch travel protection policy

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 (Bernama) – Malaysia’s first telehealth service provider, DoctorOnCall.com.my has partnered with Tune Protect to launch AirAsia Tune Protect Travel Protection.

Through the collaboration, policyholders can obtain free medical consultation during international or domestic travels. They can choose annual travel protection plan, starting from RM0.50 per day or a one-time travel flying with AirAsia starting from RM0.80 daily.

DoctorOnCall is an online platform that provides medical consultation with over 70 Malaysian Medical Council (MMC)-registered doctors with valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).

DoctorOnCall.com.my. co-founder and managing director, Maran Virumandi said getting medical consultation had never been easy.

“Now, travellers can speak directly with an MMC-registered and APC-holder doctor, regardless of where they are,” he said in a statement.

For travellers, falling sick would put them in an undesirable situation, especially in a foreign land. There is also a possibility of language barrier and unpredictable cost of getting medical consultation.

Using DoctorOnCall platform, only a phone or an internet connection is required. Patients can speak to a doctor with regard to common ailments such as cough, flu, fever and skin conditions, and consultation for long-term disease management such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
