Mutiara Health Kiosk launched for Penang people

GEORGE TOWN, Feb 22 (Bernama) -- A one-stop health screening centre, known as Mutiara Health Kiosk, was launched today for the benefit of the Penang people.

State Agriculture, Agro-based Industry, Rural Development and Health Committee chairman Dr Afif Bahardin said the kiosk, an initiative by the Penang Health Department, was in line with the government’s  mission to provide access to cheap, if not free, health service for the people, especially the less affordable.

“It will be easier for the people to get health checks because the place is strategic,” he said when opening the kiosk at the Mara Building here today.

Meanwhile, Penang Health director Dr Wan Mansor Hamzah said the kiosk was the first to be set up in the state with the objective of increasing public awareness on the importance of health checks and early detection of diseases.
