Health Ministry needs more staff - Dr Dzulkefly

SEREMBAN,  Feb 22 (Bernama) — The number of employees in the health sector in the country should be increased to cope with the workload facing staff of the Health Ministry, said its minister, Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.

“Having been in the ministry for nine months, there is no doubt that we need more staff, whether there are doctors, nurses or drivers.

“This has been discussed at many post-cabinet meetings at the ministry and we have been told that we have been given the allocation,” he told a media conference after a working visit to the DaVita Dialysis Centre and Tuanku Jaafar Hospital Day care Centre here today.

Also present were Negeri Sembilan Health, Environment, Communications and Consumerism Committee chairman S. Veerapan and State Health Director Dr. Zainudin Mohd Ali.

According to Dzulkefly, the ministry currently has a staff of about 280,000 people.
