Proposal to build third health clinic a good start - Aiman

SEMENYIH, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Semenyih state by-election Muhammad Aiman Zainali views the government’s proposal to build another health clinic here as a good starting point for greater convenience in the area.

Muhammad Aiman has been campaigning for the construction of a hospital in Semenyih since finding out that was the main issue raised by the local residents.

“This (the building of another health clinic) is a good thing and proves that the government listens to the people. Perhaps we start with a clinic, then when there is a chance, we can push until it (the building of a hospital) is implemented.

“We need to fight for it (the building of a hospital) because the people of Semenyih need it,” he told reporters after observing the early voting process at the Battalion 4 General Operations Force (PGA) Camp Semenyih here today.

Yesterday, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad proposed the construction of a third health clinic in Semenyih to ensure the residents here would get proper health care.

Dzulkefly said the proposal was in addition to efforts to improve the facilities at the two existing health clinics in Semenyih and Beranang, which are old and dilapidated.

Asked why he arrived late for the early voting process despite being told to be there at 9am, Muhammad Aiman, who is also the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) treasurer, said he was barred from entering by police as he forgot his candidate’s pass.

“I arrived at the main entrance at 8.50am, but I did not bring my pass, so the police did not allow me into the centre.

“I left my pass in another car, which was already being driven to Kuala Lumpur, so I had to wait until it was returned to me,” said Muhammad Aiman, who praised the authorities for showing transparency.

“This proves that police are very transparent. Although I am a government (party) candidate, they still made me wait until I had my pass before allowing me in,” he said.
