Be prepared for a hot month

KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 (Bernama) – The Health Ministry has reminded the people to be prepared by taking the appropriate measures during the hot weather phenomenon which is expected to last until the end of March.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the extreme hot weather could cause one to sweat frequently and its effect on fluid loss in the body.

“This will cause an individual to feel lethargic as well as to face the risk of dehydration and heat stroke,” he said in a statement here today.

In this regard, he advised the people to drink sufficient water and drink boiled water.

"Reduce outdoor activities and use an umbrella or wear a hat to protect onself from being too exposed to the heat," he added.

The guide for health care during the hot and dry weather can be obtained via the web portal at
