GUANGZHOU, March 11 (Bernama) -- The ‘Malaysia-China International Cancer Symposium’ is medium to channel information on alternative treatment through 18 types of the most sophisticated minimally invasive technology for late stage cancer patients to become healthy and lead a normal life again.
Founder of Cancer Survivors Malaysia (CSM) Zuraini Kamal said the essence of the symposium was that it provided to provide exposure on the advantages of using the technology in more detail , hence giving hope for the cancer patients.
“If we are to look at St Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, most of the patients there are in the advance stage, where medical experts in the country will say no i9f there is no hope of recovery.
“These last stage of cancer patients, they are hoped to continue to fight to find the treatment to cure their illness. They have the right to the best health, second chance and best treatment,” he told Bernama after the symposium Sunday.
The symposium, jointly organised by St Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou and the Malaysia-China Medical group Association, was held since last Friday.
Zuraini said Malaysia also had its own expertise and technology in the treatment of cancer patients, but the treatment using minimally invasive technique had yet to be used seriously.
As such, she hoped the government would consider the good side of using the minimally invasive technology, as being used by St Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, hence, providing an opportunity for it to be realised and practised more widely.
Meanwhile, chairman of the Malaysia-China Medical group Association Melissa Tan said the synposium, aims to serve as platform for sharing of information with medical and health practitioners on cancer treatment practised in China.
“Our objective of organising this symposium is for health practitioners in the country to get information and see for themselves, as well as understand cancer treatment in China, which is not available in Malaysia for it be look closely.
“Apart from that, it can enhance relations between health practitioners in Malaysia and China and when they can share ideas and views on cancer treatment, it can provide ideas to Malaysia to approve existing expertise and technology
