O&G firms most sought after by Sarawakian job seekers - survey

KOTA SAMARAHAN,  April 9 (Bernama) -- Oil and gas companies remain the most highly sought-after industry by Sarawakian job seekers who have registered with JobStreet.com, securing the two top spots in the ranking.

The findings of the survey conducted by JobStreet.com recently to identify the top 10 most favourable companies in Sarawak, revealed that Petronas, Malaysia’s state oil firm, secured the top spot, followed by Anglo-Dutch multinational Shell.

”The top 10 Companies 2019 survey gathered over 1125 Sarawakian job seekers to participate in the online survey,” Jobstreet.com Malaysia said in a statement today.

It said Sarawak-based company Sarawak Energy appeared to be the third choice, while Cahaya Mata Sarawak and Air Asia occupied the fourth and fifth places respectively.

Maybank, Naim Holdings Bhd, Shin Yang Group of Companies, Petros and Sime Darby were among the companies within the top 10 list.

The survey highlights that Sarawakian employees prioritise career development after company reputation while salary remains one of the top three aspirations and considerations for them at all position levels.
