KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 (Bernama) -- The Health Ministry today announced a health protection scheme for the B40 group, known as PeKa B40, which will be implemented nationwide beginning tomorrow.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, in a statement, said PeKa B40 focuses on public-private partnership that would allow recipients to go for health screening at private clinics run by registered general practitioners (GP).
Other benefits include medical equipment, incentive to complete cancer treatment and transportation fare incentive, he said.
He said as of last April 12, a total of 423 GP clinics have registered as PeKa B40 clinics and called for more private clinics to do so.
Recipients of the Cost of Living Aid (BSH) and their registered spouse, aged 50 and above, he said, are automatically eligible for the scheme.
“No registration is required to participate in the scheme. The eligible recipients and the list of participating clinics can be checked online at the Peka B40 website or call 03-2730 7575,” he added.
