DUNGUN, April 16 (Bernama) -- The RM125 million Dungun Hospital, which is expected to be ready next February, will be the third specialist hospital in Terengganu, said Deputy Health Minister Dr Lee Boon Chye.
Terengganu currently has two such hospitals, namely the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) in Kuala Terengganu and the Kemaman Hospital in Bandar Chukai.
“The new Dungun Hospital will have 10 specialists, among them for surgery, obstetrics, gynaecology, dentistry, orthopaedic and anaesthesiology.
“Once it is fully operational, it will help reduce patient congestion in the current Dungun Hospital, Kemaman Hospital and HSNZ,” he told reporters after visiting the hospital construction site here today.
Also present were state Local Government, Housing, Health and Environment Committee chairman Dr Alias Razak, state Health director Dr Mohd Jusoh and Dungun Hospital director Dr Farah Najwa Abdul Rahim.
