New block of Papar Hospital's phase 1 fully completed end of the month



PAPAR, June 13 (Bernama) -- The new block of Papar Hospital’s phase 1 will be fully completed by the end of the month, said Health Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Seri Dr Chen Chaw Min.

He said the construction of the phase 1 upgrading project of the hospital which cost RM6.5 million had faced a delay and was scheduled to have been ready on Nov 2, 2018.

“The project was started on Nov 3, 2016 and the new building block among others located the Haemodialysis Unit and an operation theatre,” he told reporters after visiting the hospital here today.

Also present was the Sabah Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung and Papar Hospital Director Dr Norhezan Mohd Seri.

Dr Chen said the construction of the 2nd phase of the new building of Papar Hospital was now 8.87 per cent ready and expected to be fully completed in February 2021.

“The project valued at RM65 million was delayed by one year due to the problem of the site and I see that the construction process was going smoothly.” he added.
