KEPALA BATAS, June 22 (Bernama) -- Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)'s Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (IPPT) has expanded its services with the installation of a digital mammography machine.
The institute's deputy director (Clinical) Dr Hariah Abdul Karim who is also a radiologist said the machine could produce clearer images and results.
The machine could assist in early detection of breast cancer among women and enable IPPT to provide them the best treatment, she told reporters after the 'Cancer Survivors Week 2019' programme at the institute today.
The programme was launched by Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Rural Development and Health Committee chairman Dr Afif Bahardin.
Dr Hariah said IPPT also provided mobile mammography service for the convenience of rural residents.
