Three Tawau General Hospital subcontractors issued attendance notice



TAWAU, June 26 (Bernama) -- The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) here today issued a notice of attendance to three subcontractors involved in the construction of Tawau General Hospital additional building, requesting their presence at the statutory office.

CIDB Tawau branch chief, Hassan Ismail said the notice was to investigate matters relating to the companies’ registration.

"Apart from that, these three subcontractors have been compounded by the Health Department because the construction site was found to be a breeding ground for aedes mosquitoes," he told reporters after an operation at the Tawau General Hospital construction site here today.

Thirty-six enforcement personnel were involved in the CIDB integrated operation held in collaboration with Tawau Municipal Council, Department of Occupational Safety and Health, Labour Department, State Health Department and Social Security Organisation (SOCSO).

According to Hassan the operation was held to develop cooperative relationship between law enforcement agencies..

He said since January to date, CIDB Tawau has issued 44 notices to several main and subcontractors in Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kunak and Semporna for various offences.
