Kelantan Health Department committed to eradicate prohibited drugs, cosmetics

KOTA BHARU, July 2 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan Health Department is committed in its war against prohibited healthcare products and cosmetics which are marketed to consumers in the state.

Its director, Dr Zaini Hussin, said his department took the distribution of the healthcare and cosmetics products which were not approved by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) in terms of unrecognised ingredients seriously.

“We want the public to know that even though these drugs and cosmetics are cheap, it can harm the consumers in the long run or immediately,” he told reporters after launching the National Pharmaceutical Halal Convention 2019 here today.

Also present were MOH Pharmaceutical Services senior director Dr Ramli Zainal and Federal Territories Mufti Datuk Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri.

Dr Zaini said the convention was seen as timely with the latest issue and relevant for the halal pharmaceutical industry in Malaysia to produce halal drugs and free from dubious elements.
