3,293 HIV/AIDS cases up to 2018

KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Bernama) — A total of 3,293 HIV/AIDS cases were reported up to last year, the Dewan Rakyat heard today.

Deputy Health Minister, Dr Lee Boon Chye said out of this number, 47 cases involved children aged below 18.

“The Health Ministry always ensures that each pregnant mother undergo HIV/AIDS screening while  treatment would be given to those infected to prevent spread of the disease to the foetus,” he said.
