SHAH ALAM, Aug 17 (Bernama) -- The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) will provide an application to encourage more people to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Deputy Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong said the plan was the second phase of the Fit Malaysia programme.
"For the second phase, we will provide an application where if one uses it while exercising, they will earn points that could be converted to for example, electricity bill rebates or discounts on items.
"This will make it easier for anyone who wants to adopt a healthy lifestyle without having to wait for the Fit Malaysia event," he told reporters after closing the Malaysian Students Technology Conference (MSTC) 2019 at Top Glove Tower in Setia Alam here today.
Sim added that the initiative was an improvement to the Fit Malaysia programme which was to attract more people in practising a healthy lifestyle in their daily lives.
"The system may be launched later this year or early next year as it involves high quality Information Technology (IT), so it will take some time," he said.
