KOTA KINABALU, Aug 27 -- Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal wants sterilising service facilities to be extended to more districts in the state.
He said this includes Tawau, Sandakan and Keningau so that government and private hospitals could benefit from the services.
“Services like these are necessary to sterilise equipment which are needed to treat patients,” he told reporters after officiating at the opening of the Sterilisation Service Centre by WHS Sterilization Service Sdn Bhd at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park today.
Mohd Shafie said the centre began operations this year.
Meanwhile, member of the board of directors of of Warisan Harta Sdn (WHS) Bhd Datuk Pengiran Hassanel Datuk Pengiran Mohd Tahir said the establishment of the centre was timely with the rapid growth of many new privately-owned as well government healthcare facilities in Kota Kinabalu.
He said the centre would also provide job opportunities to local Sabahans through training programmes for government or private hospitals.
