MMC allowed to operate again since yesterday

SEREMBAN,  Sept 12  -- Mawar Medical Center (MMC) here has been given permission by the Health Ministry to reopen for operation effective yesterday.

Its chairman,  Datuk Lee Tian Hock said the letter from the ministry was received today, allowing MMC to operate with 30 beds, 44 haemodialysis machines and eight specialist doctors.

"With the approval, MMC can now accept patients for treatment. We promise to give the best service to patients to restore public confidence.

“To the staff, I want them to give 100 percent commitment to their job so that we can restore MMC’s glory,” he told a press conference at MMC here, today.

He said a new management has taken over MMC with him as the chairman and Professor Emeritus Datuk Seri Dr. V. Satiadass as the chief executive officer.

It will be run by a staff of 230 people, including eight specialist doctors, he added.

MMC’s licence was revoked by the Health Ministry last Jan 15 after it was found to have violated conditions  stipulated under the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998.
