SEREMBAN, Sept 19 -- All payments in arrears to 33 specialist doctors comprising resident and visiting doctors, at Mawar Medical Centre (MMC) and Mawar Hemodialysis Centre (PHM) here, amounting to RM7.5 million have been settled, said PHM chairman Datuk Lee Tian Hock.

Lee who is also group deputy executive chairman of Matrix Concepts said the previous management, Intelek Ceria Sdn Bhd had settled 40 per cent of the payment amounting to RM3 million.

"The remaining 60 per cent or RM4.5 million was settled by the new management Matrix Medicare Sdn Bhd (MMSB), a subsidiary of Matrix Concepts.

"As promised the outstanding amount was paid to the doctors a week after MMC obtained its licence from the Ministry of Health to enable the hospital to resume operation beginning from Sept 11," he told a press conference after handover of the outstanding payments to 17 of the 33 doctors here today.

He called on the new management, doctors and staff of MMC to work hard in striving for success and restoring the hospital's former glory.
