UniSZA to have own infectious disease research centre

KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec 25 -- Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) is setting up an Infectious Disease Research Centre under its Medical Faculty soon.

Its vice-chancellor,  Prof Datuk Dr Hassan Basri Awang Mat Dahan said the setting up of the centre was proposed by the specialist unit at UniSZA Teaching Hospital .

“A proposal paper, including on the requirements of the centre, such a laboratory and research facilities, as well as the cost, will be tabled soon,” he told reporters at a programme for the media here today.

He said the setting up of the centre was also proposed following UniSZA’s success in introducing the COVID-19 Risk Assessment and Self-healh Monitoring (CHaSe) Application recently.
