KUCHING, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC), a leading private tertiary hospital in Malaysia, has announced a strategic partnership with Public Medicare Group (PMG), one of Malaysia’s largest local primary healthcare providers.
In a joint-statement today, SJMC and PMG said this collaboration aims to enhance healthcare delivery in Malaysia, improve healthcare outcomes, and strengthen the nation’s overall well-being.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between both parties here recently will establish a seamless pathway where patients can access primary and tertiary care across regions in Malaysia, ensuring continuity of treatment and optimal patient outcomes.
The MoU was signed by SJMC Chief Executive Officer Bryan Lin and PMG Founder and Executive Chairman, Dr Chieng King Chong in the presence of PMG’s Executive Director Andrew Wong and Dental Director Dr Albert Lee as well as SJMC’s Clinical Oncologist Dr Matin Mellor Abdullah and Director of Business Development, Strategy and Transformation Joanne Lee.
As part of the collaboration, SJMC and PMG will explore several mutual benefits for patients, providing peace of mind using remote monitoring solutions for patients’ vital signs and real-time analysis through SJMC’s Connected Care digital ecosystem.
The two organisations will also develop a comprehensive combined loyalty programme through PMG’s existing Loyalty Card that will bring value to patients through a variety of rewards, discounts and exclusive benefits.
The partnership will also benefit healthcare professionals, with SJMC offering Continued Medical Education (CME) opportunities across PMG branches nationwide, while SJMC’s General Practitioner (GP) Affiliate Programme will also be introduced to PMG’s GPs to foster stronger ties.
PMG will be able to integrate their patient care plans with SJMC Laboratory’s extensive diagnostic capabilities, which has been accredited with MS ISO 15189 since 2009 for provision of accurate, efficient and reliable results for both physicians and patients.
SJMC Chief Executive Officer Bryan Lin said they were eager to collaborate with PMG to combine resources and expertise to take a significant step towards creating a more equitable healthcare system in Malaysia.
“We hope this partnership will foster more initiatives such as this as we are dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of all Malaysians,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Chieng said the partnership will strengthen the healthcare network for professionals and patients of both organisations, ensuring broader access to healthcare services.
“Our goal is to create a bridge that links PMG’s primary care services with SJMC’s renowned expertise in secondary and tertiary care. This will ensure that our patients receive the right care at the right time, without any delay,” he added.
