Indonesia issues travel advisory as monkeypox case confirmed in Singapore

JAKARTA, May 13 (Bernama) -- Indonesia has advised its nationals in Singapore to calm down and watch closely the development of the situation through media and the country's Health Ministry website after confirmation of a monkeypox case in Singapore, reported Xinhua news agency.

Health Ministry Earns Plaudits For Smoking Ban In Eateries

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) -- Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad became a household name in October last year following his ministry's announcement that smoking will be banned in all eateries, including open-air hawker centres, beginning Jan 1, 2019.

While non-smokers were jubilant, the news caused consternation amongst smokers who wasted no time in criticising the ministry's decision.

Despite the objections from smokers and restaurant operators, Dr Dzulkefly stood his ground and asserted that the decision was made with public interest in mind.


Three deaths from methanol poisoning so far in Perak
